Winter tires for '04 Subie
I've got the stock 16" rims, and there are so many good tires out there, and everyone gives a different story about each, how do I decide which winter tire is best???
Here are the tires I'm looking at:
-Hakkapeliitta Q's (Swiss made, heard good stuff)
-Blizzak LM-18 or LM-22 (had Blizzak before, good tire)
-Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice (they are goodyears
)
-Yokohama AVS winter (sposed to be one of the best?)
-Michelin pilot/arctic Alpin (heard good & bad)
??????

Take a look at our reviews and tests.
In my opinion, the Blizzak LM-22 will offer best snow/ice performance. The Dunlop takes a slight dip in ice performance but lasts longer and costs less. The Pilot/Arctic Alpins offer a good blend like the Dunlops but costs more. The Goodyear is good all around but a bit soft in the sidewall for my taste.
Those are the ones I have experience with and a brief impression of each. My favorites are the Blizzak and the Dunlop.
