get an used set of RE92 from local members? You sould be able to pick a set up for $100 or something. Wheels/tires combo from a WRX go for ~$300 or so. Good luck!

I use Ziex ZE-512s, great all-seasons that won't break the bank

nevermind, those 92's have 30k on them. Looking for something with a little less mileage.

Tirerack.com has Yokohama Avid V4S's for ~$83 each. I used these on my Eclipse GST and as my first replacement set for my WRX. They have decent grip but last quite a while.
Full set with shipping was $369 and I ordered them on Saturday, had then arrive today.
