I am looking to get rid of the stock steel wheels, and was wondering about new wheels. I don't know what to get, 16s 17s??? Will I have to lower my car any, if I go with a bigger wheel, what will kill my acceleration, what kind, size??? Can someone help me please, and keep the cost pretty minimal?

If you're doing it for performance in terms of accel/deceleration, the smaller the better. You will get a bit more cornering/handling responsiveness with a larger wheel. If you go 17" you should look for a lighter wheel to minimize the effect on your accel/deceleration. Also look at the tires available in the respective sizes. You can look here in the 'shop for wheels' section to compare cosmetics between the two.
