Wheels to go with these tires?
Hello all,
I'm nearing 16k miles on my stockers (2002 WRX) and it is time for a change. After some research and discussion, I've decided to get some Potenza RE750s as my next set of tires...
...now all I need is a set of 17" wheels to go with them! I've ruled out anything from Rota or OZ (too many Honda Civics running around with those on) and anything over $250 a wheel (budget -- must comply!) but otherwize I'm open to suggestions. I've got a silver WRX which is totally stock; but I plan to go Stage 2 the second my engine warranty runs out, so lightweight wheels would be a plus.
I'm looking for wheels that are classy, polished and definitely non-"bling." Who makes BMWs wheels, BTW? Most of the 02-03 BMWs I have seen ship with extremely tasteful and sharp-looking wheels. Perhaps I should pick up a set and gouge out the center caps with a screwdriver? :-)
I've been through the selection at The Tire Rack and honestly didn't see anything to thrill me -- for some reason, the wheels either seem to be chromed (YECK) or painted silver. Are there any "brushed aluminum" or bare-metal wheels worth looking into?
