I rolled my fenders to run a 30 offset and had stretched 215's. I had 18x8 ET40 with 225's and they cleared with no issues at all and looked as if you can run them with no fender roll.

I read some people saying 40mm is low and will cause suspension, and/or bearing problems. Is this really true or are people just being extremely technical? I know my car won't fall apart immediately after putting them on, but I don't wanna have issues several months down the road either
Sounds like all you want wheels for is for looks. From that statement you made about not wanting to do anything with your car, it sounds like you will baby it. Are the guys with issues doing autoX and driving the hell out of their cars? Reading and doing your research on things is a smart thing to do, but now I think ur getting paranoid and over analyzing stuff. If you don't feel comfortable with 40, then dont use it, go with a little bigger. Better safe than sorry, no?

I mean I don't want to modify anything on my car just for the wheels. Of course the wheels are for looks, but my car isn't all stock. I probably am being paranoid about the wheels so whatever I'll get them. The car is my daily driver and I don't autoX it, but I didn't get an awd turbocharged vehicle for nothing.
