Victoracer or Ecsta ?
Victoracer or Ecsta ?
I'm looking into buying a set of competition tires for solo II. I was told that the optimum size for the stock rim is 225-50-16. Kumho is the only brand that I can afford now, so my choice's seem to be either the victoracer or ecsta v700. Does anybody know of the differences between the two ? and which one would you recommend I get.
I happen to be in the same boat as you but my roomate who has been doing solo II for 3 years runs the victoracers and likes them alot. He also says that lots of guys run the ecsta and like them as well. My plan is to run the first autox on my street tires and talk to some of my roomates buddies who run wrx's and 2.5rs and see what tire they think would be best for my car. I'm taking this approach with all other mods too. I'm going to wait until I get some good face to face with people who know the car better than me and can help me decide which mods would be best.
I'd go with the Victoracer. There's been a bit of a buzz about the Ecstas being a bit tough to "dial in" in terms of temperature and wear. I'd go so far as to say that most of my customers that have tried the Ecsta after using the Victoracer and gone right back to the Victoracer. The Victoracers have proven themselves over and over as a great all-around autocrosser for those of us with finite budgets.
