Unhappy Vibration?

I just picked up some Rota SDR's 17X7 and 225/45 Conti Extreme contacts for my 04 wagon and first thing in the morning when I get on the highway I get a pretty bad steering wheel vibration until I've gone a few miles. Do the tires need to warm up? It only happens in the morning, after work when it's warmer outside no problem. They are balanced, Iv'e taken them to America's Tire Co twice now to have them checked. Could it be a faulty tire? Help...

yup, that's what it sounds like to me. My Kumho MXs will do the same thing. I usually take things easy for the first 2 two minutes or so to let the tires warm up. Most noticable in the morning when the tires are cold and have been standing in place overnight. They run great after that.

...and increasing your PSI a couple of pounds can make the problem less noticeable, but you may not want to do this if you are running increased pressure already.

If you really care about your tires you should have them professionally balanced and aligned at roger krause racing in castro valley would be a great place to start. They use all hunter equipment. They can balance your tires in ways you never thought possible and as Brandon for an alignment.

My Extreme Contacts are exactly the same. Vibrations at highway speeds for the first mile or two (after 5 minutes of getting to the highway) until the tires warm up. My one and only complaint about the Continentals, by the way...
