Tires for my new wheels

I just bought some 17x7.5 wheels for my '02 sedan and now I need some rubber. I wanted to go with some all-season tires, but now I wonder if I should go performance and hope the AWD will get me through the winter. What do you guys recommend, all-seasons or performance and hope for the best when it snows? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

keep your stock wrx wheels/tires for winter use. get some high performance tires for your 17's.
Bridgestone S-03s is the tire of my choice.
if you want long lasting tires, get the Bridgestone RE730s. they will last you a long long time. (just don't drive them in the snow..the tires will harden like rocks and you will slide off the cliff.)

Sumitomo HTR+ 225/45/17's
very good all season tire for the price.
good grip, comfy ride, perfect for steeting
around.
i also use S03's on my wrx which are great,
much stiffer sidewall and precise turn-ins.
i also got some parada spec2's i havent'
tried yet.
do not get the potenza RE110's. they are
waay too weak for the wrx.

How about trying out the Kumho MX's? I've heard they are comparable to the S-03's in the dry and are pretty good in the wet. With the money you save with them over the S-03's, it will be a good downpayment for all season tires on your stock wheels.
Of course for less, you can go with the Azenis but they won't be close to the S-03's or the MX's in the wet (or last as long for that matter) but they'll stick better than either of the others in the dry. Oh yeah, the MX's are also lighter than the S-03's and the Azenis.
