Have you considered the Hankook RS2's? or how about the RE-01R's? Those seems to be popular Auto-X choices.

I have considered them but on the re-01r's the treadwear rating a litte too low for me i only use the wheels for the track but i drive my car to and from the track everytime. (and the price is too high)
I can't find the hankooks in my size on discount tire direct or tire rack

Don't get the Direzza.. I have them on my IS300. It sux a## big time. I have 615 (225/40/18) on my car right now and love them. I've heard they wear fast but still in pretty good shape right now considering I don't track and it's a weekend driver.

I've heard lots of too things on the RS2 and they are cheaper then the 615.

A 215/40R17 is 23.8 tall and a 225/45R17 is 25" tall. If the original size was 205/55R16 that tire is 25" tall. That could be why tou didn't like them, they were to small.
I carry the 225/45R17 Hankook RS2 Z212 140 treadwear for $100 plus 10.50 to ship.

The freight calculator on the web site is for general use. Sometimes we have other shipping options that are less expensive and pass the savings on to the customer. The total to your door would be $442.
