Dexter, i was interested in purchasing a set of Icon W62 series rims from APC. i know that the offset for the wrx (mine is a 2004 wrx sedan) from factory is +55 if im not mistaken. now the Icon's are 18x7 and the offset if +42. i think from what i've read here on the forums, the minimum should be +44 up to +52?
question is, will i need to roll my fenders a bit, or will the +42 offset put to much stress on the wheel bearings and such? also if theses are ok, what size tire would you reccomend?any info greatly appreciated
thanks,
Brandon

An 18x7 with offset 42 would likely fit with a 215 width tire on the wagon (be ready to roll rear fender or at least remove rubber liner) and on the sedan it should fit with 215 width tires no problem and possible rear roll/liner removal with 225 width tires.
On the bearings - the lower the offset, the more stress on the bearings. There's no number to give in terms of how long they'll last. A lot of people run lower offsets and accept the anticipated loss of bearing longevity. Personally, I prefer to play by the rules and keep the offset up where it should be.
