Question Rota Wheels

Are Rota wheels any good? I read they are hard to balance sometimes (need a lot of weight). I like the price, and design, but I don't want to sacrifice quality. I also read they don't center up sometimes. Anyone have good or bad experience with them?

Thanks

The quality of Rotas is fine, especially considering their price range. I wouldn't compare them to Volks or Works by any stretch, but for $500-600 a set you can't beat them.

I have 17" Rota Subzeros and have no complaints about them. A number of fellow Subie drivers at the auto-x events I go to also use Rota wheels. Like what BAN SUVS said, they are pretty good for the money. BTW, the Subzeros are only about 16.5 lbs. which is pretty light for cast wheels.

I have 17" rota downshifts and Im verry happy with them. Saveing money on rims made it so I could get good tires. They did have to put allot of weights to ballance but they are in the inside of the rim so no big deal. I didnt get center caps from subydude and that kind of sucks but I heard they only come in black so Im waiting to see if subydude gets some colormatched ones in stock. If you buy some make sure the factory lugs will work because I had to get some spline drive nuts because the factory ones wouldnt work.

Suby Dude rocks!

Rotas may or may not need a little more weight than other rims, but could also depend on what kind of tires your are putting on the rims and how they are installed. when i had my S0-3's installed on my Sub-Zeros the guy who put them on checked the balancing and if they needed a lot of weight he rotated the tire a little bit to even it out. this way he used less weight on the wheel.

Yes, tires require balancing far more than wheels do.

I just recently purchased some rotas from sudydude. I considered some volks but decided to get rotas and EDM lights instead of just volk rims. I am very pleased with the rotas and am expecting my headlights tomorrow!!!

Rota is the OEM manufacturer for several large car companies...

They make 30,000 wheels a MONTH.
