Rims..Tires..???
Hey Everyone,
i have a few questions fo you about rims and tires, and what your opinions are on two rims.
My first question is one you probally get alot, Should i get 17's or 18's on my car? this car will probally never see a dirt road, and will rarly go to a track, it will most be "hard-core, lol" street driving. hope that helps on your decision.
My second question is just your opinion. I have brought it down to these two rims: the O.Z./Pridrive P1's or the O.Z. Superleggera's, both will be in gun metal gray or anthracite.the car is a 2002 wr blue wrx. what rim do you think will be better for me?
My third question is what is a good all around tire?Dry and Wet traction? i live in California so there isnt long rainy seasons so i dont have to get a wet tire just something that will be able to handle normal driving in the wet. somebody recomended the Nitto Neo gen's for a good tire and the Falken Azenis Sport's but said that they are only dry tires but can be used in rain for a little while. is this true? are they any other opinions on tires?
Thanks for your time
Sean..

or
Bridgestone Potenza S-03's
Both are super dry tires and are great in the wet. Nitto's are just crap.
My $.02
I say 17". Less chance for wheel damage, better prices, less weight, looks better at stock ride height, less bling. Pure opinion.
Too close to call on the OZ vs. Prodrive - very similar wheels in construction, look, and price. Essentially both OZ wheels. Add the SSR Competition to the mix in anthracite. Disclaimer: I'm biased, but trustworthy however.
On tires, Mach5 doesn't lie. Also take a look at the Pilot Sport PS2. Better dry than the S-03, close in the wet.
Just one man's opinion.

17s are the way to go. Both wheels are good choices, but may I also suggest examining Volks, Advans, and Weds Sports. Bridgestone Potenza S03 is the way to go on tires. I believe the previous posters' explanations are adequate enough
Good luck!

i'd go with ssr comp's or oz sl's
but i'm a huge fan of lightweight
i think if it's for street use, 17 vs 18 doesn't really matter
tires: i'd go with so3's for sure.
the azenis are good for dry and ok in wet except when they hit a puddle. then they are no good

ya ok im getting the OZ superleggera's in 17*7 in antracite and i think im getting the BFG KDW 2's casue there a bit cheaper than the SO-3 are and ive heard there still good. i would probally get the SO-2 but they dont have them for 17 inch rims. i have experience with them and like them alot.
Good Choice! I have a set of those rims. They are some of the lightest rims around for our cars and they are very well balanced wheels. The guy who intalled my tires remarked how nice they were.
To add to this. I just switched from 18" rims to 17" and am looking at tires. I got a set of 17" Rota Subzero's because I am unoriginal and have been looking at tires but am not sure what size to get. I have been entertaining the idea of 225 45 17, 225 40 17 and 235 40 17. I obviously want to stay as close to orignal tire height and circumfrance as possible, but would like the wider tire. I assume 235's will fit well enough without rubbing. Any ideas or suggestions. I haven't even gotten into which brand of tire I am going to get. Just size right now.
