Rim repair kit

I just recently curbed one of my rims...I was in a hurry (had to leak something horrible) and kissed the curb with my rim. So I was searching online for some type of service or kit to conceal the eye sore when I came across this.....

http://www.premiumautocare.com/how-t...ow-wheels.html

I was wondering of anybody has tried this or has heard anything about this. It looks pretty legit (since they are showing it done on a Porsche). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen this same writeup referred to on another forum, people seem to say it works + whats the worst your gonna do. botch the repair job yourself and go get it done professionally anyway? And here's a dancing banana>>>

i think that putting putty on a wheel is silly. It will crack off so fast... i think.

I have them done to my BBS rims. It works fine. August is when I reparied them, and still holding up.. although, now I have even more curb damage. Since I painted the rims myself, I can't even locate the areas where I repaired them. Sanding it flush and getting it to match the shape of the lip is key. Although it is made by Bondo, it's not the same "body filler" they use on panels.

On Monday I bumped over curb and dinged the lip on one of my wheels. I hit it pretty hard so I am not sure if I warped the wheel or what. The steering does not wobble but it pulls to the right. Guess I will find out soon.

Does anyone have a gold BBS for sale?

I agree it does look pretty legit, I could see the only problem would be finding the correct color for your wheel.

That stuff is glazing compound and yes it is used for body repair. It is meant to be used after bondo body filler for filling in pin hole imprefection after initial sanding. I've done enough bodyrepair and used enough of that stuff to recommend against using it to fix wheels, but its your car so do what you want.
