question on ssr competition wheels!

i have 2002 impreza wrx and trying to buy competition wheels.
SSR Competition 17x8 inch wheel 5X100 35mm
will this fit on my wrx??

The +35 mm offset it WAY low. You should stay in the neighborhood of +48 to +55 mm offset.

just curious. people say it will put extra stress on the bearings? do subarus have weak ones or something? sucks you can go low for the flush look..

If the wheels weigh more then it will cause stress but the SSR's are a super lightweight wheel. i think the 18's weigh like 14 pounds and the stock 16's weight like 16.

The extra stress on the bearings has ZERO to do with the weight of the wheel. By moving the centerline of the wheel outboard, you drastically increase the length of the lever arm that is twisting the bearings. The Impreza's bearings aren't particularly weak if you run a proper offset, although hard use like a full race season will certainly destroy them.

SSR's come in the correct offset for Subaru so you should be able to get those wheels if you want. I know tirerack carries them.

i have ssr comp's 17 x 7.5 +50 offset.


35 is way too low
