A Question about Rota Hyper Black
I'm currently waiting on a set of 18.8.5 Rota Grids in Hyper Black to arrive. I heard from someone that Rota wheels in Hyper Black tend to chip and peel.
Can anyone how owns/has owned Rotas in Hyper Black please confirm or deny this?
I certainly don't want to invest upwards of $1000 on a set of wheels that won't keep its finish.
Thanks in advance.

I have a set of rota boosts in hyper black that are about three years old and have 30k miles on them.
They lasted really well for about two years, and now there is some minor paint chipping, and peeling.
You must keep them clean, and keep the brake dust off from them and the finish will last a very long time. What I am saying is it is very dependant on how well you care for them.
For the price I would say they are a very good rim. I am planning in the near future if the peeling, and chipping becomes too bothersome to me I will have them blasted, and re powdercoated which will run me about $50 per rim. so Im still out cheaper than buying a more expensive rim, or I can just blast them and run them flat black.
The reason I say it is very brake dust dependant is my fronts are worse than my rears. That could also be due to heat IDK.

I had hyper black on my rota g-forces that I bought new, they did chip and peel, didn't really notice it till you get right up on it, but I started seeing the chipping within the first couple months of installing them. Kinda annoying. I only washed mine with normal car wash soap.

Thanks for all the responses, guys.
Do you think it would help with the chipping/peeling if I got them powder-coated right off the bat with clear? If that will work, I might as well get them done before I mount tires on them.
