does anyone know how long does the RE92 last? because im trying to get rid of it off my 04 wrx, but dont want to waste and throw it away with treads

 

all depends on driving, and the condition. I had mine for 1 1/2 years, worn out pretty badly though

 

Depends on how you drive and how often you're rotating your tires. I rotated mine regularly and they only lasted 18K.

 

I had 37K miles on the RE92s with some usefull tread still left when I pulled them off. Had them about 18 miserable months. Like an unwelcome guest, they just wouldn't go away. I was ready to upgrade wheels and tires so I just pulled them, anyway. They are still sitting in the garage sheltering spiders and waiting for me to decide if I want to keep the rims for winter tires or to sell them.

 

thanks i have mine for 7 month but have 11,000 miles on it; the rear are okay but front half left hopefully it runs out soon its miserable having them. so anyone know how to worn them out faster?

 

Plenty of ways. While the weather is still good why not plan a weekend road trip to somewhere along some little-used twisty blacktop? Practice doing curves. Go autocross for a session or two. That will do them in real fast.

 

They carry a 40k mi warr, but actual tread life will vary.

 

what does the warr. does? if it broken within 40K ? also any recon of tires for like alot of driving i go to san diego from bay area twice a month so want really good tires to replace but duno

 

Take a look at the Tire Rack site. Even if you don't buy tires there, they have a lot of information to help you make a good tire selection. You may want an all-season tire that gives you the best possible mileage (at the expense of performance traction qualities.) That means a high tread wear number (like in the 300's) on the tire. Once you start looking at the tires there, you can look at all of the opinions that other users have witten about the tire. After reading several of those reviews, you can get a good idea of what the tire is really like out on the roads.

Keep in mind that for the longest tire wear, tires need to be kept properly inflated. Checking tire pressure at least twice a month is not a bad idea.

i just came back from the dealer they say my thread line is worn in and i should change my tires i only got 11,400 miles on the car

 

I've ran 2 sets of re-92's. They typically last about 5k.

 

You guys must drive like madmen. My Kumho MXs would last you about two weeks.

 

What do u expect? They are Korean tires! Personally I would never put any Korean Tires on my car. Just like I don't use Samsung or LG cell phones, don't buy Korean TVs, don't drive a Hyundai or Kia. Nothing against Koreans, I just don't like the 5% of them that are stuck up their *** and think they are the best race in the world. The other 95% I am totally cool with them. Unfortunately it's the same 5% that owns these type of companies...

 

You don't understand the humor here. Kumho Ecsta MXs are excellent tires, but they are made from near-R compound rubber which is not supposed to offer great tire mileage.
