So the sidewall bulge won't adversely affect handling right? In other words, no flex from the bulge right? That's good to know... I thought I was just lucky not to have any flex, too

I've always wondered if this could be done...
Could this be done on a wagon without rubbing? Or maybe 215's?

I have some 225 50/16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS/D3's on my wagon and they definately have more grip. (they are the Z rated ones) However, they did make my car handle a little bit sloppier in my opinion. I have a whiteline swaybar that is at 24 mm right now so I can really feel the tires roll over a bit when I enter a curve. My initial impressions after I switched from the stock tires were that my car just didn't feel like it handled as "sharp" as it did before. I will say that the improved traction in the wet as well as when it is dry is worth it.

How much air pressure are you running? I have a set of these in 215/40R16, and running them at 35 psi wan't enough. Try pushing them up to 38-40 psi before the next time you go out and drive hard. Might improve that "sloppiness" quite a bit.
