Ordering tires from Tire Rack

I'm looking to buy tires and I'm interested in the Pirelli PZero Nero and Bridgestone Potenza RE750. I have pro drive 17" Prodrive P1s currently with Toyo Proxes FZ4 in the size 215\45R17Z. I'm assuming the Bridgestone and Pirellis will fit these rims. Any suggestions as to which is better? Thanks for your help.

I want a lot of grip. Price doesn't really matter so much. These will be summer only tires, from now until about Nov. I live in Rhode Island so I have to put up with constant changes in the weather. I guess I would like something that grips well in the rain as it seems we get a lot sometimes. So will the tires I listed fit these rims? I'm pretty sure they will since they're offered in the same size as I have. Also how do the tires I mentioned compare to the Toyo FZ4s I have now? Thanks.

The FZ4 is an all-season IIRC, so either tire is going to be a big improvment. You might want to try the *shameless Avon plug* Avon M500, I have them mounted on the same rims you have and they are cheap and give great grip both in the dry and in the wet.

Any reason you want 215's instead of 225's? I had the RE730 which was the previous to RE750 and they were great tires in wet and dry. They don't wear as fast either. Might not be what you are looking for if you want max traction.

No real reason....I just have 215s on now. Do you think I shoud go with the 225s? I'm leaning towards the Bridgestones right now.

If you track or autocross, you want Bridgestone Potenza S03s or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. If you don't track or autocross at all, throw Goodyear GSD3s into the mix as well.

And on the P1s, I'd stic with 215s. They fit a 7" wheel better than 225s, especially in aggressive summer tires.

So I've been reading up on tires on Tirerack.com and I think I'm going to go with the Pirelli P-Zero Neros M&S. I know these aren't as grippy as some of the tires I mentioned before, but I think they'll work out better from Oct-Nov. I usually take the P1s off around Decemeber anyway and put them OEM tires on. So for the size I'm planning on going with 215/45R17. This the size I used with the Toyos and I have no complaints. I'm hoping to have the tires shipped to an installer...anyone done that before? Thanks for all your help...and I'm still thinking about the value of the Kumho tires....

The tires I mentioned are very good in the rain, and since you still have the stockers, you don't need all-seasons. I'd definitely go with the Kumho MXs or S03s or GSD3s.

Aside from the value bonus, the Kumho Ecsta MXs will give you all the grip you want. Can't squeal these tires. We had a good deal of rain in CA this winter, and I really liked the way the MXs handled the wet. I've got the 225 45 17.
