noob question about wheel sizes
i have searched different sites about possible sizes for new wheels on my 06 wry, was looking at 17x7.5 or 18x8.5, both with +48mm offset, thing is i don't want to have to modify anything on the car, i have read different results with both sizes saying they would both rub and would need to get fenders rolled, anyone know for sure what size i can go without having to do anything, and also car is stock suspension.
another note, was told if i go 18, the gap in the wheel well would make 18s on stock suspension look dumb.

If you are keeping stock suspension, I wouldn't go bigger than 17"... even that sometimes they may look weird. Try to find at least 8" width wheel then you'll have more options in size for tires.

i have a sedan and was thinning xxr wheels just because i don't see them and i like that they are different from everyone around where i live, i wanna stay stock, if anything maybe some cobb springs to lower it, so if i was to go with with a 17x8.5 or should i go with an 8 , would i need to fender roll or would i be clear.

When I had 06 WRX sedan (stock suspension), I fitted Advan RCII 17x8.5" +45 w/ Bridgestone S-03 245/40R17... It rubbed at rear fender during super sharp turns. I slightly rolled the back & then lowered w/ SPT pinks... no more rubbing. If you don't want to roll at all, then get 235/40R17.
Have you considered what tires?

yeah i don't want to have to roll fenders, and was thinking bridgestone tires, but open to suggestions, and wheels don't have to be flush, just don't want any rubbing, and yeah 518 was what I'm looking at, haven't seen them around my area and i wanna be different from people down here,

I'm running only 18x8 +30et on 215/40/18 Kumhos. With adjustable coils lowered enough with no fender flaring/pulling and no gap/no rubbing. Heres some pictures referencing ride height and mild tire stretch. Good luck!
