need tires/wheels

New to the board; any advice for a middle-aged, mechanically challenged WRXette(who can't make up her mind) would be helpful! I finally trashed an OEM rim(bent beyond repair) so I now have an excuse to upgrade( my car is parked for now). I want to go with a 17" wheel; I have my eye on the Prodrive P1s(IF I can find them at a reasonable price) with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires( all season-I drive in the snow). The dealer will give me a set of 17" Subaru wheels with Bridgestone SO3's for about the same price but then I would have to go snow tires in a few months. Which way would you go?

P1's all the way. Also see if you can get another OEM wheel cheap and put ALL seasons on those. It's kind of a PITA to change them every year but a tire shop wouldn't charge a lot if you didn't want to do it yourself. Good lunck. BTW welcome!

I guess it would be way to obvious to suggest some Rota Tarmacs & maybe some Potenza 950s/P Zero Neros/or HTR+s... (BTW the 950s have a 45k mi warranty @ Firestone & the HTR+s have a 40k warranty @ Sears, if that's important to you.)

there are many wheel options ... the P1's are getting pretty hard to get ahold of from what I hear .... I would get an additional OE wheel and stick the all-season tires on those and get a summer tire for the 17's

thanks

Thanks for the replies.....After several days of internet searching, I have not been able to get a set of Prodrive wheels for a reasonable price.....I am going to go with the dealer Subaru 17" wheels and Bridgestone SO3's for a reasonable price ($1500) and will get a set of all season tires once I find a OEM wheel.....

That's odd... P1s are listed for around $1050 a set almost everywhere. But, you can't go wrong with those S03s and a dedicated set of winter wheels/tires.
