Need help on wheel selection
Hey guys. I am sick of my wheels rubbing cause of a wrong offset. I am told from tire rack that 48-52mm is the correct offset for my car. Does this sound right. I like 5 or 6 spoke type wheels. Anyone have any good recommendations??
Something along these lines.

hello,
i have a set of Crimson K6s for sell, made for Subaru's. straight from japan, forged, 21 lbs. Black with polished lip, got these wheels 3 months ago, parting out my car, so letting everything go. Each wheel goes for 370. 45 offset, my car was lowered to two finger gap and no rubbing. wrapped in Yokohama ES100s, 85% thread left, paid over 2 grand for them. asking $1200, $1400 shipped. pm me for pics.
let me know if your interested.

Hey guys thanks for the info.
SF - I gotta go through Les Schwabs to by them cause I did it on a payment plan and I am going to try to return these wheels that I already have.
MO REX - thanks, that is what I have been hearing too, I just can't believe that Les Schwabs sold me a 38mm and then tried to fix it with a 42mm wheel. Stupid idiots. I would stick with just a silver finish though, no gold or black finishes.
Do you guys like any of these wheels:
1) BBS RK - $199 17.9 lbs
2) 1000 Miglia Action - $139 25.0 lbs
3) 1000 Miglia Evo5 - $159 23.5 lbs
4) 1000 Miglia Spider2 - $174 23.5 lbs

I like the BBS the best and they make that wheel with a 48 mm offset which will work good on your car. Im not sure if that wheel comes with other offset options so make sure you tell Les Schwabs you want that wheel with a +48mm offset so they dont screw up again.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Well, I went to Schwabs and those stinkin' BBS wheels are $330 a piece (probably cause of the weight) so I am going with the ADR Type 2 Intense. It's a 7-spoke and they are going to swap me straight across even though I've been ridin' these wheels for about 2 months, only 3,000miles though. BTW anyone throw some KYB AGX's on a pre-97 impreza??? how do you like them? I am seriously ready to buy but wanna make sure they will be worth the money and I want to do the install myself, is it that hard???
Here they are.
Here they are.
Go to tire rack's website and enter your car info, click on wheels, hit right arrow untill you see BBS RK, click on the BBS RK, once it shows the wheels on your car click on the wheels on the car and and it will show pic's of the wheels with the price of $199 per wheel (I tried to link you up to the page but it didnt work). Make a copy and show Les Schwabs and they might match the price. I have a feeling they screwed up and quoted you a price of a different BBS wheel. If you can buy them for around $200 a wheel and you like the way they look it would be well worth it. Also if your RS is like my WRX (I would think it is) you will need to remove the springs to install the struts so if you plan on doing springs in the future you may want to wait untill you have the cash to buy both. The install is easy if you have a friend to help, a spring compressor, a breaker bar, a good torque wrench (not a rental from Autozone) and if you dont have air tools you may need a special tool to release the nut from the strut top that threads onto the strut shaft. I didnt have the correct tools for this and I had to risk scratching the shaft and use a strap wrench on the shaft since I realised this after I had the strut out of the car with the spring compressed.

I doubt Les Schwabs will match it. The Tire Rack has them on sale. But i'm not so sure they would look good on my car. BTW, I have a 96impreza. I thought about replacing the springs too but not sure if I really wanna lower my car cause I like the off road rally dirt stuff too. I am pretty sure I have all the tools for the strut job and my dad was a mechanic for 20 years so he is willing to help me out if I need it. But what kind of time frame am I looking at for all four? And I do have to take out my back seat to get to the top of the rear struts right?
Also, how do I know if I need new top hats and sleeves???

since your dad is a mechanic I would think you guys could do it in around 4-5 hrs. If your car is like the WRX you will need to remove the back seat and I wouldnt think you would have to buy new top hats or sleeves.

Yeah, I know I have to remove my back seat to get to the back struts, but I've done that about a million times so no worries. Also, I ended up buying some RS springs to throw on with my AGXs. I can't wait to get them on my car!!!
