Alright everyone....its time for me to buy tires for my new rims. I thought since you guys are the most reliable people i know i'd come and ask you. I am looking at either Nankang NS-2 or Kuhmo 711. I am not sure which one is more reliable and which one performs better or last longer. Any input would be appriciated. The tires are 225/40-18. here are 2 pictures the first is the nankangs and the second is the kuhmos. Thanks alot everyone.

niether, they both suck imo
before i come off looking like i am being rude/mean, what are you looking for out of your tires? what kind of driving do you do/plan on doing? do you have a different set of tires for the winter?
for some people those tires will work fine, it all depends what they do with there car.

I have kuhmo 712's. They werent my first choice but they seemed the best bang for the buck. They stuck like glue at first but now slide a bit and are too quiet at the limit for my taste (I like a little audible warning). They are decent tires and good for the cost, but if I could do it again, I'd save a bit more and get better rubber

If you are shopping for tires based strictly on price, get the 711s. If you can afford a bit more, move up to the 712s. Nankang= the Kia of tires. Kumho is more like the Hyundai(still ****ty, but at least they're trying). The Kumho MX are great tires, but they're spendy compared to the 712s and don't work well in the rain. If you aren't on a budget and have a set of winter wheels, go with Bridgestone S03s or Goodyear Eagle GS-D3s. If money is a factor, get 712s. If you're reaching the limits of your budget and have to settle for 711s... you shouldn't have bought 18s in the first place. Sorry.

I second that; I've watched a 103 HP Honda spin its front wheels in the rain with Azenis. With 170-200 hp pushing them, you wouldn't be able to pull away from a stoplight.

umm no
i could make a 103hp civic spin the tires on dry pavement to
if it was pure ice you could pull away from a stoplight in a wrx, you will spin them but you will still go
yes azenis suck in the rain, but they aren't THAT bad as to you are going to slide everywhere anytime the road is wet

If you live where it rains, do yourself a favor and don't try to drive the Azenis in the wet.

I've had both the 711 and the 712 albeit in 16 inch size. They were fairly good for the money. I'm honestly not sure what tire I'm going to get next, but it's going to be pretty soon. I've heard good things about the Yokohama AVS ES100 though. Tirerack.com has a wealth of information including treadwear ratings and performance stats. It's a good place for the basics.
