how to get spline lugs off?
ok.. so i have a set of spline lugs that i lost the key for.. i tried a few types of keys and none seem to fit... how do i get them off?
please help!
please help!
thats a tough one, i've personally seen 2 ways:
you can try to get a slightly bigger socket to fit over it, then hammer it so its snug on there, then loosen the lug. or:
you can weld a socket to the key lug (make sure you cover things up to prevent burning) and loosen it that way.

A few things
If you really have to do it from home maybe you could wrap the nut in a towel or something then get some vice grips that are strong enough and small enough to grip it so you can get it loose. Or just drive to a tire shop and use one of their sockets. Splines are pretty common these days and I'm sure a shop would have a key you could use.
