Sealed wheel bearings don't go out all that often - regardless of Subaru's history. The simplest route to this is to buy a used complete hub assembly from a junkyard that offers a 30 day warrantee.
Then it's just a matter of a 32mm nut (I think) and a breaker bar for loosening the 145 lb/ft of torque..

Either that or you need a bearing press to get the bearing out of the hub. Also you need one to get the new bearing back in.

I replaced them myself and had a shop press the bearing in for me. I did thid after a winter curbing but the bearing was not pressed in right and in the summer when I put the R compounds on the bearing got loose and went bad. I had to pay the $700 to have it fixed. Bite the bullet and get it done right or get a used one.
