Unhappy Has this been done before?

Hi, I just purchased 18x8 with a +38 offset. I was told by vendor they would fit with no rubbing using a 225/40 R18 on a 06 WRX? The offset was suggested by the vendor. Please be Honest will this work out, I currently have Tein S-tech spring on now which pretty much eliminates gap on stocks. Taking a closer look at possibly rolling in rear fenders, but wondering how to do it without damaging the quarter panel. Has anyone out there used this setup on their car? I don't want to invest on tires if I can get the wheels to fit. Input please!!

Tire rack lists that exact combo(wheel and tire size) as a fit for an 06 wrx. BUT 2 things, first they have a disclaimer for lowered cars(ie: they may rub) and second before you go one bit farther test fit your bare wheel on the front of the car to make sure it clears the four pot caliper. I bought a set from a well known manufacturer(for my 07 wrx)who said the wheels would fit,but they didn't. If you haven't taken delivery yet see if your wheel is listed on tire rack as an option. They are the most reliable on combo's that I have found.
