Question Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

I have decided that I am only going to upgrade my tires right now, want to pay off my car first befroe I cave in and buy some Prodrive G-06d forged white rims, but I was looking inot gettining the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, from reading the reviews these look like an excellent tire to get but I was wondering if they will be an excellent choice for wet weather as well. I read the reviews and ppl said that they handled well in the rain but I wanted to ask your guy's opinion first. Also what tire size should I get, I have stock rims on my 2003 WRx sedan, Iread that 225/50 is the max I can go, but should I go for a smaller width? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The D3 is the best tire I have ever driven on in the rain. Period. Both hydroplane resistance and adhesion to a wet surface are, in my opinion, unsurpassed. It's dry traction rivals that of tires like the Bridgestone S-03 and Michelin Pilot Sport. With 280 treadware, relatively smooth ride, and outstanding performance - this is a good one. I say go with the 225s.
