Good lightweight wheel for wagon???
Good lightweight wheel for wagon???
Sorry about all the posts, trying to decide on rims. i want to get the widest wheels I can for my '99 OBS without worrying about clearance, I think that would be 215s. So what rim should I get, I'd like the lightest possible but I don't want to pay a ton for them, I liked the Rota torques but they seem wider than they need to be. Pretty much my conditions for looking are that they look good, are gold, and are as light as possible, and I'm thinking 17" diameter. I'd like them to cost about 1200 with tires, balanced, and shipped (thats what I can get the torques for). Please give me any suggestions you have, or what your running that might come close. Thanx

I was also wondering about what would fit on a GC style wagon... and 215 would be a tire width, not a wheel specification, that's what I was guessing might be the widest you can go.
Would we need to find 17x7's? or would 17x7.5's fit on a wagon with 215/45's

Some "ricer" companies meet your stipulations, but their quality and performance is nowhere near as high as Rota's.
If you're willing to spring for a few hundred dollars more, you can consider the Ray's G-Games or 5Zigen FN-01RC's.

5zigen's looks promising, having hard time finding much about the G-games though, like weight for 17 inch wheel, but also seem a little pricey, other suggestions still welcome, and thnx
SSR Competions or Centerline
SSR Competions or Centerline
I have 17"x 7.5" SSR Competions on my WRX wagon.
Good: Lightweight, look good, forged (strong).
Bad: Very expensive
Centerline-
Good:Lightweight, look good, forged, less expensive than the SSR Comps.
Bad: Did not see any 17x 7.5". No 7.5" width offered one year ago when I was in the market, so I bought the Comps.

Uhhhh... the centerlines i found (rpms???) are pretty light but just as much as the ssrs? I luv the ssrs but cant justify spending 2000 just for 4 rims and some cheapish tires. My dad can't either, and although he's promised me the money for the car, I can hardly ask him to spend that much for some rims.

wow, i didn't realize they'r so light (i guess there not that light, but thats about the weight i'm expecting w/o going insanely expensive) but your link doesn't work, doesn't show info, instead shows the pic again (i believe)
They are 1.5 lbs lighter than stock 16x6.5 rims and they cost $280 a wheel at Tire rack according to a link I got from one of your replies to anothet thread. The only 17" rims that were lighter on that link were the SSR competitions.
