Getting a set of 14's for the Winter, LOL

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking of gettig a set of 14" steel rims and a set of snow tires to go along. Am I making a big mistake? I need as much info as possible about what might happen. I just want something that will keep me out of trouble in the snow, slush and water.

Here is the link to the steel rims I'm getting http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=5.5&bp=5-100

And here are the tires (are they the right size for the rims?)
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...43&rd=14&ar=65

Thanks dudes!

I don't think 14's will fit over the brakes.

i think everyone is missing an important question here

what kind of car do you drive?

it helps to give that information so people can respond with correct information. most people here will just assume you drive a wrx. i am guessing that is not the case since you said 14" and not 15" but we will see.

I assume that this is for a newer Suby of some sort. If so, then you want a taller tire (185/70 is what is recommended by most Imprezas & legacies w/ OE 14in wheels) & maybe a wheel with a higher offset.

brakes

I'm gonna throw my hat in with VRWRX, I'm not sure a 14 will fit over your brakes.....
as a secodnary question... are you just SOOO poor that you can't afford a set of 15 inch snows? If so, that's cool, but if you're doing it because lots of people go down a size, just think of how dumb the car will look with 14's. Seriously, my grandma's car has bigger wheels than that. If you can afford it, just put snows on the stockers, and save up for nice rims in the spring.
sorry just my .02
