Fuzion ZRi tires?
Fuzion ZRi tires?
Anyone tried or heard of these tires? Made by bridgestone/firestone I guess. They are wicked cheap and look decent enough.

From what I've heard, these tires are the equivalent of Mini to BMW or Old Navy to the Gap (that is, Fuzion to Bridgestone). It's supposed to be a low-priced entry-level performance tire that looks cool. That's all I've heard; I don't think that anyone has had any first-hand experience with them yet.

I see that they still have a diamond plate website...very informative..

Yeah.. I saw the previous discusson of them. No one really knew anything then, I was hoping they might know something now.
How about I rephrase the question. Is there any reason why I shouldn't get these tires?
I can get the Fuzion's for approx $164 installed, taxes in (Canadian), but I can get some Yoko AVS ES100's for approx $240 installed. Would it be worth the extra $80 to get something that has been at least tried. Information about the Fuzion's is few and far between on the net..

I got the Fuzions about a week ago--only have about 200 miles on them so far, size is 205/55/R16.
So far so good--they felt soft at first (I'm coming off of Dunlop SP9000s and SP5000s), so I increased the pressure to 40lbs., and that helped. Grip is quite good in the dry--quite similar to the SP9000s, but with a touch more roll, or whatever that is. Only a little experience with wet traction, but seemed fine.
Sorry, but I haven't really pushed them enough to say more than this--so far I would say they are very good for the cost--comparable to tires much more expensive as far as grip goes, with a little less feel and firmness. They feel like they have slower turn-in.
I'd give them about a 7.5 out of 10 so far, with the Dunlop SP5000s being my gold standard (love those tires, especially the wet grip, and progressive way they break free).

What?
Sorry, don't understand what you wrote.
At any rate, the tires are getting better--turn in still feels a touch slow, but the grip is getting really good. They seem to work better at a slightly higher temperature than we've had here--about 75 or so they improve significantly.

If you haven't watched "Pimp my Ride" on MTV yet, then you are missing out on the final sign of the decline of human civilization into barbarism and chaos, cultivating the nadir of intellect and the anathema of good taste.
Translation: that show RAWKS, d00dz!
BTW: buying a $25,000, 220-HP car and putting $79 tires on it is like buying a beautiful gold watch and then putting duct tape over the face of it. Of all the parts of your car to go cheap on, don't do it with your tires.

Sorry I've missed out on another cultural pinnacle courtesy of MTV...
Not all $79 tires drive like they cost that, especially when they are that cheap as part of their promotion, which is the point of trying them out and comparing them to more expensive tires.
There are cases where higher cost is not indicative of higher performance, or the "bang for the buck" quotient leads one to the point of diminished returns.
Cheers,
Daniel
