falken azenis sport size question
sorry if this has been gone over recently but i couldn't find info on this board.
i'm looking at getting these tires in either 205-55/16 or 215-45/16.
needs to be stock rims and will use primarily for auto x with occasional road driving. these will not be my primary wheels.
any thoughts/recommendations on pros/cons of either size?
thanks

I ran 215-45-16's on my RS. With the extreme gearing of the RS, it made for a lot of shifting on the track, but for Autocross, you might be fine. If you've got a WRX, the gearing is much higher. 215's are 5% smaller, so you get the gearing reduction. You also get more rubber on the road. I had 7" RS rims, but have seen them on 6.5" WRX rims...should be fine. I ran the car for a while with stiff springs that were 1.5" lower than stock and had no rubbing or problems on the RS. The only reason to go with 205's is if you want to be able to swap out other tires in the same size.
