I think you're going to be disappointed in your search. 16" rally tires are expensive and hard to find even though I think thats what they use in WRC.

Its really going to be a a lot easier to cough out the money for 15" gravel wheels. (You're already pretty good shape since WRXs have smaller brakes) Once you do that you can look around for used rally tires. I got some used hard compound ones about three years ago for $40cdn each- and they're still doing me proud.

If you`re looking for rally tire i can get used Yokohama Rally tires for dirt cheap. I get tires that are used once and get thrown away. The only down side is that the tires are all 15`s. I can get full slick Yok`s in 16`, 17`s, and 18`s but 16in dirt tires are rare.

good luck

imprezanut, tell more.

How cheap is 'dirt cheap'?
Where are you located?
Do you have hard compound gravel tires? (seems really good for Northern California)

its always good to have a line on cheap used rally tires.

The prices range from about $25.00 a pice to $100 depending on how much tread is left. I`m in Japan right now but I come and go to San Diego ca. The tires I get are Yokohama advan dirtra tires. Now I have a set of sppedline 15`s on my GC with subaru 4pots and they fit perfect with a 5mm spacer.

If you`ew interested I`ll look call in and see if my source has any. The dirt ralley season is`nt going on right now in Japan so I might not see any till november-ish, but I`ll keep you informed on it. I have a set of four ADVAN snow tires that are 90% new and I might be selling them

I`ll be back in SD on the 5th so I can send you some pics.
