Blizzaks LM25 or Nokian WR
Did a search and came up with a lot of threads. I read most of those threads and seems like the tires of choice for winter conditions are either Blizzak LM25's or Nokian WR. My question; is one going to be any better than the other? Seems like some people swear by either the Blizzaks or the Nokians.
I'm located in San Jose and I'll be using them on my 03 sedan, 205/55/16. I will be using them as my tire of choice for driving up to the snow to do some boarding. When I get back I plan on switching back to my 17" Grids wrapped in Eagle F1 GS-D3s so I don't have to worry about these tires handling extremly well in the dry. Which tire would you pick and why?
Seems like blizzaks may be the way to go becasue they seem easier to find here in the bay area than the Nokians.
I looked into the P Zero Nero M+S but I was looking for a more dedicated snow tire.
Thanks

I've had experience both with Nokians and Blizzaks. The Nokians will slightly outperform the Blizzaks in extremely bad conditions. In light snow/ice they both have excellent grip and are very predictable tires. For me it came down to price, i picked up a new set of Bridgestones cheaper than the Nokians. Whichever way you go you will not be dissapointed.

I would also give the Dunlop Wintersport M3s a look. I had a set up here on my RS, I loved them. Pretty good ice traction, but they also have decent dry grip and I got well over 30k out of them, virtually all of which was on dry roads in warmer temps. They are priced well too.
I have a set of dunlop m2's(precursor to the m3's) and had very good success with them. Luckily I don't put a lot of miles on my snow tires on dry conditions because I drive a different car during the week. I would probably consider the nokians if I did.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna go for the Dunlop M3, they appear to have slighty better ratings than the Blizzaks on the TireRack comparison.
im rockin the blizzaks if anyone cares
and the ratings on tire rack arent really from tire rack, its from customer feedback, which cant really tell you that much because most of its biased
