I'm considering BFG to replace the OE's. Could you share your experience with BFG KDWS or recommend any other i should consider?

Also, what about up-sizing? ..225/50-16 with stock rims?

 

I have been told that the the BFG tires are all good on dry pavement but are horrible in the rain. Yes this include the KDW also. If you want a really well balanced tire, then get the Bridgestone S03PP or Pirelli Rossos. I have had experience with both tires and I like them both. Also the Pirellis are a bit quieter and smoother for cruising. If you want more performance and are willing to sacrifice a little comfort, then go with the S03PPs.

Just a reminder that these tires are NOT all season tires. Even the KDW. If you want all all season tire, then go with the the Bridgestone RE950s or go with the Sumitomo HTR+ I have good reviews about both tires.

Or if you have a really big pocket, then try the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. These are supposed to be the "best" all-season tire available.

Thanks for the info! actually, i was referring to BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS which are all season's. I do plan on driving on snow once in a while...
I'll have to do some shopping for tires you mentioned. i couldnt find RE950s or HTR+ on Tirerack.com

...those sport A/S' are expensive!!

I ordered a set of bfg kdws from costco. Hope to install them next week. 1$ cheaper per tire than at tirerack.
By the way I went for 205/55/16

I just put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the stock rims (205/55/16).

AMAZING!!!!

But just as ImprezaRSDriver said you need a deep pocket. (Not that I am bragging-- I am poor but I have what doctors call a little bit of a spending problem). I did get a "steal" @ $175/per tire installed and well worth every cent. Excellent dry traction, Excellent wet traction, and even pretty good in the snow. A huge performance improvement over the OEM RE92s.

Acceleration is much better, handling way more responsive, and braking is much much better on the stock setup.

Hey, thanks a bunch! KDWS's are the tires that I'm planning on getting next year. It never occurred to me to check with Costco, even though I walk right past their tire department to enter the main store. Membership has its benefits

 

Ok, Ok... maybe you're right. I guess after puttin' out the cash the butt dyno went a little haywire. I'm sure it was just nice and chilly that day. Still excellent tires.

i know what youre talking about. i just added momo shift **** and i swear my car's upper mid range torque went up 50%!

I just found out my front insides totally worn out With stock alignment i thought it'd wear out evenly. anyway, A/S vs. KDWS... it's about $250 difference, right? lemme see.. if Rotas are going for $450 a set... damn, i still dont know what i'm getting.

 

Here is another piece of advice I learned and tell anyone when they are buying tires. Never go cheap on tires because it is the only thing that keeps your butt in contact with the ground. I would suggest going with the A/S' I have had BFG tires in the past and I feel that they just do not cut it in the rain. But I will admit their tires do grip really well in the dry.

I've been very happy with my Nokian NRW's. Comparable dry handling to the RE92's, better resistance to hydroplaning and no comparison on snow traction...I have three season tires on my car when there is no snow in the Sierra's.
