Angry Awe crap! Damaged tire.

I was installing my summer tire back on because it's 90 degrees in Northern California and I doubt the snow will be sticking around much longer. Anyway, as I was mounting the tire I noticed one of the tires had a big notch cut into one of the tread blocks. It's about an inch long and about 1/4 of an inch deep. Should I replace this tire or is this something that can be fixed?

I would think no unless steel belts are showing. If it is ruined you really should replace all four. There is a stickaroony about tire info that will explain why.

I agree with MO - ride it out if you're not to the steel.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I will ride it out. Especially since the tires only have about 4k on them.
