I've searched for info on this, but can't find any, so please could you help? I have an elderly ('89) Legacy 2.2GX estate with steel wheels and 185/70 14's. A friend has offered me a set of standard subaru 15" alloys with 205/55 tyres. I know that the tyre diameter is OK, but will they rub? What is the max recommended size for this car?

 

Thanks. I've looked carefully at the backs and they are 15 X 6JJ 55; I've fitted the rear ones and they look mighty close to the struts. Being a lower profile tyre, should I run them at a higher pressure?
