air to scale??
ok, i've got a set of wheels suppose to weight 19~20 lbs. ea. with falken azenis 225/45/17 spec from falken site weights ~25 lbs. i weight the wheel before mounting it on the car, and it showed 50 lbs. i told the tire center and he said to me air inside the tire weights a lot... like 5 lbs!?!?
tirerack guys.. is this true? the balancing weights don't weight in lbs either!

Sweeper,
Sorry about the delay - didn't see this one. The weight of the air is negligable at best. This will not add to the weight of the wheel/tire combo in a measurable amount. Had you weighed the tires prior to mount/balance, it likely would have been close to equal. Possible added weight includes: balance weights, valve stem, center cap, and even the "goop" used sometimes to get a tire's bead into the bead seat.
