215 vs 225 an 40 vs 45

lookin at buyin some rota formels for my 03 rs-stock height with a 48 offset. with tires am i better off with a 40or 45 for height.been leaning towards the 225's but not sure which number for the height.i dont want to have any rubbing issues whatsoever, but do want the max performance possible.any help would be great!

i am guessing you are looking at 17" wheels

with that the proper/best fitting tire size is 225/45/17

225/45R17 is what you want. 225/40 is too short unless you want it for autocross or something. I don't think there's much available in that size anyway.
