Question 16's vs. 17's Please Advise?????

Hi, OK here's the sitch, I want to replace the stock wheels and tires on my 04 RS. The problem is I'm not sure what size to go with. I'd like to put on some Tarmacs with 225/45R17 Continental Extreme Contacts, but I don't want a choppy ride. I do like the look of the 17's as well. If I end up staying with 16's I'll probably go with BFG KDWS' in the factory size with stock wheels and eventually switch to Compomotive MO wheels. I really like them the best, but at $305 a pop it'll be a while for those. My suspension is stock with the only mod soon to be coming from a bigger RSB. So what do ya think?

two weeks a go i installed some 17x7.5 inch rota sub zeros with 225/45 17 bridgestone potenza SO-3 on my other wise stock 03 WRX. the ride did get a little stiffer, but nothing that i would actually complain aobut. you just have to take it a little slower over speed bumps and pot holes, but the car handles so much better.
