mine is white also.... it looks pretty bad ***... I have heard that if you call SOA and feed them some line about how you are doing something to promote the company, they will send you one. I didnt try it, but I would use something like you are doing a presentation for your marketing class about rapidly growing companies in todays automotive market place..... and your entire focus is on subaru... or somethin like that

well since this is kind of our own personal thread ill give you the break down.
My first thing that I did was the stereo. I replace all the speakers in the car including the tweeter with infinities, and threw 3 jl's in the trunk. After that, I was on to suspension. It took me a year just to locate some, and when i found them, they didnt fit...... sidenote: DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH ISR ON LEGACY STUFF!!!.. Those people know less then me about out cars. I just found some this week through a guy on the legacy forum, and I will probally order them next week. They are Whitelines, 73170, and 73172. He said they bolted right up, so i am stoked to finally get my drop on. Before all that, i picked up a set of 18's and slapped them on, but then everyone else had those rims, so I powdercoated them black... IMHO they look sick as hell, but it is my car.
As much as I want to start messing with the engine and stuff, I want to hold off. With the bumper we have on our car it has been really hard to try and find a muffler that dosent look out of place. IMHO none of the stromugs look right, and neither do big old tips. The only thing that I can think to do is to get like a blitz nur spec and angle the muffler so it kinda of points out the back left corner. that might look sweet, but for 500 bucks, why chance it. The little upgrades would be cool, but as heavy as our cars are, they really dont seem logical. I think that to get where I want to be its going to take more than a set of pulleys and an intake. I mean at an average of 200 bucks a pop, those little things are only giving you 10 to 15 hp gains max!!! Why not save up for the turbo, or for that matter, a 2.5 sti swap??? Long story short, If i wanted a fast car I would have gotten a wrx, or a 2.5 rs. I wanted a car that was fun to drive, felt even better to sit in, and was even better to look at. After my last car, I did all the nickle and dime bs. then i got a turbo set up and had to ditch like 800 in parts that werent compatible, just save your money, get the big stuff.... when you do it will be a more noticeable gain also!!
What do you think??

As you did, i replaced the entire stereo system. i did all kenwood, cept, the sub(which i blew like 2 yrs ago). then i got a new one.
You do, have a point, on the simple mods. im thinking of just saving my money, and making the mods that wont hurt in the long end, like you said, make sure the car sits right, and is stiff(like a sway bar). i do got a Injen intake on the car, which it gave me lots of high end power on it, kind of cool, and goes with the car. I was thinking of getting these RPM2 18's from this local guy who deals with subaru. he wants like 1649 out the door, which isnt bad, but dont really got the money to just shell out.
let me asking u a few questions:
Borla header, would be useless, if wanting a turbo on it, right? if not great!
where do u go to do ur major parts shopping?
what do u think, is somethign really needing to get? my opinion is: sway bar, suspension, looks. i think i really want to do my outside looks first, than mess with the engine(i really want to show off my car to people) im really into the thought of people double looking at my car, and say WHAT THE HEL IS THAT!
what do u think, of all hoses, and belts, and caps being a certain color(in my case red)? since my intake is red.
i know body kits r really expensive, but which one r u looking at? ive got one in mind, but i got the pics on my home comp, mayb ill get them here somehow, lease the web address.
this is getting lil long so ill end it now. ur opinion please.

The header woould be useless if you were looking to get a turbo. I was also contemplating getting that cobb NA set-up but thats almost the same price as a turbo, so i dotnn know.
AS for your intake... where and how much did you get it for? I have never really noticed huge gains on my other cars just by the intake, so for you to say that you are noticing huge gains... make me think. I am with you on the looks thing. I had the chance to get a body kit off this guy in Australia, but just the shipping was around 400 bucks, so I had to pass. You can set you car apart by just getting some little body mods.... there is a kick *** front lip spoiler from liberal, I think, and its only like 200 bucks. Problem then is getting it painted, wich might cost youanother hundred bucks. All the body shops that I know wont touch body kits, so you kind of have to know somwone, or have the ability to do it yourself.
If you are thinking about rims, ill find this link, and show you these rims that I found. THEY ARE SICK AS HELL!! if I wasnt broke and in college........ (personal motto)
As far as a personal parts shop... I have been realyy hesitant to deal with any companies that specalize in the impreza line. While they can get the parts, they usually, from my experience, dont know enough about our cars. There is a lady that works at carter subaru here in Washington, and she used to rally a 97legacy, and if I ever have any questions i give her and her partner a call. If she cant point me in the right direction, she usually knows someone who can.
Engine dress up. I personally think that you should leave the hoses. While they ae cheap, if you get a turbo then you are goign to be upgrading alot of them anyways, and may have to replace the new ones you just got. One thing that I will mention is powder coating. If you have the ability to let your car sit for awhile, go get stuff powder coated. The stuff last forever and is pretty much stain resistant. Do you intake manifold red... that would look sweet. Not over done but just enough so that it adds some color.
Take it easy

You are big on black rims aint ya? cuz if u said no, i would have to disagree...those rims r sick, but dont know exactly how they would look on a white car...i just dont know
you know what, i think i pretty much convinced myself, to naturally do my car, no turbo, not any of that BS out there. first off too much money and second off, prolly not in my day be able to afford it(back to the money issue, haha). what u think? i dont know much about cars, but id be happy if i got my car with mods here and there, to near or at 300 horses, with good torque power. going back to the not knowing much about cars, so dont if that is really is possible.
so i think next thing, i will do, is get a sway bar 18 or 20mm? thats about 200 bucks(u know where i can go?)...then get some suspension mods, even if i dont install, and get lil by lil to do it all at once, and once again, will have to get it red...then get some hoses, and caps, for the engine bay.
u know i got a question...what do u think i should use to clean my engine? even tho its raining out, i might do that today, if i get the right info. ill go and start looking for a sway bar, cheapest one, while hopefully ull reply, b4 i have to go. thanx, man, this is great talk.
u got a link or pic of that kit u talked about, thanks
