the dccd maes it somewhere near 30/70 to the rear, but i mean come on, even at 90/10 that 10% to the front needs to go somewhere, and thats being transfered into friction at the center dif.

hA! you guys are funny....

the DCCD set to full open, the cetner diff is just a open diff. Over power the rears because it's rear biased and you'll be able to spin the rears.

Ever see a STi do a donut with the DCCD set to open? does the front spin?

yeah, the front does spin. but the point isnt weahter he can do it or not. we saw them do it. and many others do it too. the point is that when you DO do it, your messing things up. When you take a system designed to maintain power over 4 wheels, and force it only through two, you probably jacking somehting up. I mean I dont have sound mechanical data to back up my theory, but im just using common sense and logic. Even if it is an open dif, that point of contact where friction usually occurs to lock it for awd conditions needs to somehow be bypassed, meaning they either disconected it electronically (make it a 90/10 split) or just took it out mechanically.

either way, if its burning out rear wheels without moving the front, its bye bye sti

Pull the ebrake barely until the light comes on in the dash. This is "supposed" to dis-engage the front via the center dif. "supposidly" this is what makes you be able to burn out. I haven't cared enough to try it but know some that have successfully. If you can call it a sucess

I SERIOUSLY reccomend you do not try this and I take NO liability if you **** ish up.

i think it is ok, i have been running a 6spd for the last year and half. and i don't have a controler for my DCCD. but the 6spd is set already more for RWD. I have been doing Gymkhana and drift this whole time and don't see anything wrong yet.

a friend of mine send me this link to change the DCCD from 35/65 back to 50/50 to 0/100. i have talk to some people about this that have bought this item and say it works fine. i am planning to get it. it's only $400 and it's primarly for GC8 or GDB WRX with the STI 5spd or 6spd DCCD upgrade.

But then those of you who own a Subaru already know this.
Or some people just live in a climate where AWD is going to be the more practical choice?

I love the Audi S4's styling, but performance-wise it doesn't stack up to the M3 in either acceleration or handling. The S4 is a nicely tuned car, no doubt about it, but the M3 is tuned to be much more hard-edged than the S4. The S4 is more of a sporting tourer than a luxury sports coupe such as the M3.

I'd still take the S4, based on looks alone. It's just a great looking car.
