Subaru has a Japanese driver. He raced in the Rally Japan, and did rather well for his first time.

Actually, about 8 years ago, I was watching Best Motoring or something like that where one of the drivers took a trip to Redneck-ville USA and participated in an amateur stock car race. My friend was telling me how they (the Japanese) like it. For what reason...I don't know. But the dude came in dead last.

Why? Cuz there's no power steering and his arms got tired. I assume it's the physicality of the whole thing that gets them off...no pun intended.

With this kind of skill used just in an exhibition, imagine what they could do on a real track! Rally has always been a European pursuit, which is why they dominate the population of drivers, but with so many Japanese-built cars making their mark (hell, Subaru put WRC on the map, period!) why doesn't anyone field a car straight from Japan?
i think alot of the pro drifters are also drivers in jgtc. i think most japanese racecar drivers started out by drifting in their teens. my old boss use to drift his oldschool skyline when he was a kid in japan
