Legends of Muay Thai: "Diesel" Noi and Sakmongkol
Legends of Muay Thai: "Diesel" Noi and Sakmongkol
This is a cut and paste from another dead thread:
I finally found some Sakmongkol and he's fighting another great fighter Jongsanan (aka "Woodenman" as Choku pointed out, who is now a trainer at Fairtex). If I remember correctly first round was a draw, second round the knockdown in favor of Sakmongkol (followed by the elbow war in vid), third round went to Jongsanan who scored with lots of knees, and fourth and fifth were draws. Brilliant fight between two great fighters. Sokmongkol was 18 years old when he first fought the seasoned Dutch fighter, Ramon Dekker. He defeated Dekker that day.

RARE footage of one of the best Thai boxers ever! "Diesel" Noi. Abonornally tall ( for a Thai dude), he maintained an undefeated record in his weight class, and two above for 4 YEARS!... They finnally had to retire his belt. This is a rare clip from the 1970s of his "signature" knees. It's not the best vid, however footage from then is really rare. The 2nd vid shows him wearing down his apponent.

Johnsanan is an awesome fighter, him and Boy are pretty ferocious in the ring. My instructors Cheetah and Rakarma speak highly of them.

Jongsanan,Bunkerd, Sakasem, Surapon and Kansak are making thier way out here to Dallas (Plano) for a seminar @ Saekson Jenjira's school. The last seminar I went to was when Matee "Dragonleg" Jedeepitak and Maurice Smith were visiting. I walked away with a broken toe, but it was a small price to pay.
