The reason why the national guard is shooting people (regardless of color) has to do with 3 things:
1. New Orleans has already one of the worst violent crime rates in U.S.
2. The felons in jails were released so they wouldn't drown(murderers, etc.)
3. These same people are hijacking supply trucks with guns from walmart
The people that are being shot aren't being shot because they are black. They are being shot because they are killing people and stealing supplies meant for hospitals and evacuation sites. And they are not just stealing food...the shotguns still have tags on them for cryin out loud.
the president is not responsible for this...it falls on the hands of many others democ. and repub. I personally don't like bush, but there is no possible way you can blame this on him no matter what stupid things he has done in the past. Blame it on God while your at it for sending a hurricane down to destroy all black people. Now doesn't that sound silly

Kanye had every right to say what he had to say until he said "Bush doesn't care about black people." That was just a cheap shot and it had the same effect if he would've shouted out "President Bush has three nipples." Sometimes, emotions can play a role and he was riled up about this. He made a few good points like the media portraying the difference between looting and looking for food between black people and white people. But as far as the National Guard shooting blacks, the reason for that is that people are shooting at the National Guard and they have to defend themselves; I don't think it was all black people shooting guns. The whole state is in chaos and everyone is just trying to survive the way they know how to.

On a funny note, there was another televised telethon for donations where Chris Rock was shown on tv and during his speech, he made the comment "President Bush doesn't care about midgets." That was pretty funny.
