That looks super fun! What's even cooler is that the last segment of the video is up in hiller highlands, where we've been downhill skating for years.

i gots one o' dem! but i am NOWHERE near as sick as the riders in those segments.
it's crazy that you posted this up b/c i'm planning to take a few runs tomorrow afternoon. it's faster & cheaper than a run up to tahoe, plus our weather out here has been pretty mild lately!
also, i remember posting some info on the F R E E B O R D on here before, and it got someone really amped on getting one! ....time to do a search....
*edit* !eureka! here we go!
Xero(aka Alan) -- didya end up getting one? *edit*

I though about getting one of these. I'd like to try it out first. Would it be possible to meet up with one of you guys that has one and let me give it a whirl? I love to snowboard! I saw one at the expo and seriously thought about picking one up. I just didn't want to waste my money. It would also suck to be the only one i know that has one. Just like snowboarding it's fun to ride alone but it rocks to ride with other peeps.

Back when i worked at REI we did a demo day with the guys from Freeboard. I pulled a nice shave job on my elbow, but I loved it. It's a shame I never got one.

Floboards haven't become popular 'cause skateboards don't need to be reinvented. Freeboards are a completely different beast altogether, which makes it a much cooler invention. It truly looks like snowboarding on the street which would be hell of fun

oh, in case y'all haven't figured it out yet or tried to google this thing w/o much luck, it's actually spelled F R E E B O R D. clicky the linky for more info esp. for those that wanna know the cost of the various set-ups & whatnot. i ride an alpha 100, which was discontinued this year. at the time the x80 had just come out. i'm looking to buy the s2 bindings(they're really just foothooks). i've been wanting better edge-to-edge response for a while now, but over a yr ago i was told that a new binding was slated for feb/mar '04. so i waited & waited, till finally their s2 came out in the last couple months. i was hoping they'd be available by the time the sj snow expo was in effect this past fall & pick up a pair then.

i also looked into the flowlab, tierney rides, snakeboard, etc. & even got to test a couple. but the freebord has the set-up, imho, that mimics snowboarding the closest. it's a fun li'l bOrd that drifts
& carves like we would at our fave snow resorts.--cliff
