Is it a real CF hood or is it the same carbon laid out over a fiberglass core? The fiberglass hoods weigh only slightly less than the stock ones. Real carbon fiber with honeycomb cores weigh nothing. A set of fenders out of true CF for a fox body race car only weigh 3 lbs a piece vs about 15 stock.
