well the BOV, when it releases for that moment youre running really rich (richer than normally). with no cats in the exhaust system, theres nothing to catch the extra fuel leaving the system. once it hits the oxygen, fi the exhaust is hot enough, it'll combust....or atleast I believe thats how it does it

 

ooooh gotcha. hmmmm very interesting. what is the deal with putting a to atmosphere only bov? your ecu has to be retuned right? sorry for the dumb question this is my first turbo
