Hey david do the ALK and the sway bar mount kit do the same thing? Sorry if its a dumb question but they look like they mount in the same place. Thanks

 

They do look similar but they serve different functions. The ALK mounts to the front suspension and the HD sway bar mount kit is for the rear suspension.

The ALK replaces the mounts for the rear of the front control arms, it increases positive caster and decreases control arm deflection through the use of a stiffer bushing.

The HD sway bar mount kit replaces the "U" shaped sheet metal mounts that the rear sway bar bolts to. Some people have started to break these mounts when using larger than stock sway bars in demanding conditions such as racing or rallying. A 22mm bar seems fine on the street but moving up to 24mm or under extreme usage the stock mounts can have problems. A common problem is that the strap that holds the sway bar bushing to the bracket has a tab on one side and a bolt on the other, this strap can deform and pull out of place, largely due to the fact that it is only bolted on one side.

BTW, that ALK that I was holding for a customer is spoken for, I talked to him last night and he still wants it.
