Next level in stroker motors...

Well, after over a year in the making, the next level in Subaru stroker motors is now available. Tested to over 800hp these motors will give you the reliability you have been looking for.

We start off with a phase II 2.5 case and have special ductile iron sleeves intalled. The sleeves are flanged at the top to provide lateral strength(no need to fully close the deck) as well as a bigger sealing surface for the head gasket. Then we optimise the oiling system before finally having the cases aligned and decked. Also available is a custom 13mm headstud set. The thread pitch is altered to give maximum strength and stud size is up from 11mm. Heads will have to be modified for the bigger studs.(The pick below is of a 2.2 case that we had sleeved)

Then we add the internals. We use custom made-to-our-spec pistons and rods and a modified stock crankshaft. The pistons and rods are designed to work with the current DOHC WRX heads. They are turned into matched-sets and balanced. The crankshaft is spun balanced to 10,000rpms and then polished. All motors come with coated bearings and a full subaru gasket set.

Each short motor can come fully assembled or in kit form. Please be aware that if bought in kit form, modifications to the case must be completed by a machinist who is familiar with the subaru engine design.

Kit price is $3500
It includes all the internals, the sleeves, the headstuds, and a factory gasket set. It's everything you will need parts wise to build your own stroker engine. You will be responsible for finding a machinist to install the sleeves.

Complete short motor is $5750
This is a fully built short block assembly and comes complete ready to bolt your heads onto. You can either send me your heads for the small modification needed for the bigger studs(included in shortblock price), or have someone do it near you.

Also available is an upgraded valvetrain. It includes new lifters, shim, dual springs, TI retainers and a shim set. THIS IS THE CURE FOR OVER-REV PROBLEMS. There are two different kits available.
8500 RPM KIT is $1250 and uses single springs instead of dual springs. There is no modification to the head to run this set.
9500+Kit is $1450 This kit requires a small modification to the head for the dual springs.
If the heads are sent to me, I can also provide a very good valve job and any porting service. I would send them to the same head machinist who did our race heads and is one of the top head guys in the country. Price on this varies due to certain needs.

I also can supply a complete longblock engine with new heads, fully ported, Jun cams, upgraded valvetrain, and assembled for $12,500. If you send my your good stock heads, subtract $1000.

Below are some pics of an engine I just did for a person we all know in the forums. I used a 2.2 solid deck case for his engine. I can provide this also, but there is a cost increase due to having to buy the cases from the dealer. These 2.2 cases, although stronger than the wrx case, are not any stronger for our application. The sleeves we use make the stock 2.5 case much stronger.

Any questions, please give ma a call or email me. I would be more than happy to spend some time with you and answer any of your questions about my motors.

I've tried posting pics of the case, but the images are too big and when I try to knock them down, they get grainy. I have several pics, so if interested in them email me at r.williams@axispowerracing.net

Thanks

How much for the same build up as the well known member on these boards.

I have seen the 2.4L EJ22 shorty in person...it looks very nice. How much if I send you the brand new block...the same job as that well known member?

Thank you,

Andy

Andy,
If you send my a 2.2 turbo case, I can only deduct $300 from the $5750 price. My kit's are designed around the 2.5 case, but I do have one set of sleeves left for a 2.2turbo case. I can get good 2.5 cases cheap and that's why I can't offer you more in the way of a core for the case.

Thanks
Ron

Dude, look at what a short motor costs...you are looking at alot of dough!

I have personally seen these guys work though, and I must say that is is really nice...but 5500 for a short motor...with the block supplied...

You are probably looking at 7 or 8 grand

If you send me a complete wrx core motor with the intake and exhaust and all the little pieces, the completed longblock runs $12,500. That includes the shortblock, fully ported heads, port matched intake and exhaust system, Jun cams, upgraded vavletrain, fully assembled and ready to install. The little pieces like the tensioners and intake pieces and stuff like that add up very quickly. To do something like this I would require the core and 50% deposit to start. I don't keep a stock of Jun cams and they take about 3 weeks to get. The heads will take about 2-3 weeks to port and do all the port matching. I send my heads to a machinist who is in another state, so there is some time spent with pieces in the mail.
This type of engine with a matched turbo and tuned properly could easily make over 600hp, yet still be driveable.
I would not be interested in your wrx block as a core, and I would send it back to you unless you absolutely did not want it. The wrx case is not a good unit to modify for my design and I really do not have any use for it. I would use your core only for the heads and accessory pieces.

I have a feeling that at these prices, not to many of these are going to sell.

You can get proven Australian built motors shipped for 4 grand.

I am not sure about the $4000 price tag for the aussie motors. I know that when we inquired about a stroker kit from one of the suppliers from Australia, just the pieces without everything I offer was over $3000 us. And I don't think the strength or quality is on par with what I have.

I don't intend to sell my motors to just anyone. There are more people who don't need what I offer than there are who do. It takes a person who doesn't take shortcuts and wants the best to want to purchase what I have. And yes the parts are expensive, but it comes down to how many times someone wants to have to build and rebuild their engine. I have seen most stroker kits available for the ej series of engines, including the Jun kit, and I know the weaknesses of each and every one. My design was with reliability in mind first and then I worried about how to make the power.
