Smile Introducing The Oakos Automotive Down Pipe! Introductory Price of $174.95 Shipped!

The Oakos Automotive down pipe now includes a PEP CEL fix so check engine lights are a thing of the past.

The retail price will be $199.95 but our introductory price is $174.95.

This down pipe is an affordable, direct bolt-in replacement for the stock down pipe. By eliminating the restrictive catalytic converter in the stock down pipe the engine will have more power and quicker boost response. I ran the prototype on my car for a couple of weeks for testing before I reluctantly had to give it back for analysis. The gains in power and response were very noticeable along with a nice improvement in the exhaust tone.

Features:
  • 304 Stainless Steel CNC Mandrel Bent Tubing
  • 304 Stainless Steel Heavy Duty Bracket
  • Laser cut 3/8" Thick Mild Steel Flanges
  • Flanges are exact duplicates of the stock flanges, even the lower flange for an exact mate to the stock 3rd cat pipe
  • Formed tube exit for a smooth transition into the ovular shaped lower flange
  • Only 5.5lbs; less than half the weight of the stock down pipe
These pipes are manufactured exclusively for us by a ISO/QS certified Tier One automotive supplier. This company manufactures all the exhaust manifolds for Aston Martin as well as many other automakers. I personally visited 7 different shops before deciding on this place to make our pipes for us.

99% of the orders placed before 3PM EST M-F are shipped the same day!

Dealers please contact us for wholesale information.

Sincerely,
David Kearney

2Point0,
Sorry, we don't offer any installation services. The install for the down pipe is fairly straight forward and can be done with normal hand tools. Also, a CEL is likely since this pipe replaces the catalytic converter. I am hoping to have a CEL fix available in the future, but for now they are available from other vendors.

AFIwrx, this is not a bell mouth design. To add a bell mouth to this pipe would have increased the price by about $30-$40 and one of my goals for this part was affordability. I am working on an all-out performance, no compromise down pipe, but the price definitely won't be $175.

Push2, thanks for the help.

Here are a few pictures that show how restrictive a catalytic convertor really is.

I opened up the stock down pipe to get a look at what is inside.

This shows just how small the passageways through the honey comb catalytic material really are.

Do the factory heat shields fit back over this pipe?

The factory turbo heat shield will fit over the top of the down pipe without any cutting or grinding. The factory down pipe heat sheilds will not fit back onto the down pipe without adding mounting tabs similar to those found on the stock DP.

Question

I have an aftermarket cat back exaust, does this replace the last part of the oem exaust or is there some mid pipe as well? Difficult to install? Are there any sensors that get unplugged?

thanks for the help

The install is fairly straight forward. Remove the IC to make access to the turbo heatshield bolts easier. Remove the turbo heat shield. Remove the bolts from the rear of the down pipe. Remove bolt from trans bracket. Remove fasteners from down pipe to turbo connection. Remove the down pipe and replace. Reinstall in reverse order.

There is a pipe ("3rd cat pipe") between the down pipe and the cat back section. here is a diagram that shows the parts of the turbo back section of the exhaust:
