One of the most important first steps in tuning your car is to make sure it can handle. A good handling car will be complimentary to all the speed mods you do to it. Giving the car a better stance through turns, down the track, and through everyday traffic will make the powerful car you have way more pleasurable. Vivid Racing is experienced in tuning and driving cars for racing purposes. We currently have several cars that are setup for drag racing, auto x, and track events. We feel that our knowledge, never ending R&D, and being fellow owners of the WRX will help your decisions. Vivid Racing is going to recommend to you 3 different suspension packages that will help you make the correct decision for your driving style and goals of your car. Each package can be built on the other.

Suspension Package 1 is great for the intro user who wants to achieve a stiffer ride, better handling, but without compromising daily comfort. The goal of a daily driver should be to improve handling, give the car a stiffer feel compared to stock, and feel comfortable in aggressive situations. We recommend 3 starter products: Rear sway bar links, front sway bar, and rear adjustable sway bar. These item will reduce body roll, keep the front end from rising under acceleration, and dipping in braking. As well providing rigidity with the rear end of the car in hard turns. We utilize Perrin Performance Products as they have a great name and history in Subaru suspension and performance. All products are strong grade steel and are resistant to rust. Perrin rear sway bar links use spherical bearings to reduce noise and bushing wear. Full aluminum for light weight. Front Perrin sway bar is full adjustable for Sedan users only. Wagon users we can supply you with a alternate sway bar. The rear adjustable sway bar includes heavy duty mounts for added stiffness. With this package you save $75 off retail.

Package 2 focuses more on the entry level racer or aggressive street driver. The biggest and most important thing to do is to reduce body roll and keep the car dialed in to the pavement. Package 2 will include the same parts as package 1, but adds a front and rear strut tower brace. Strut tower bars connect the strut tops of either side of the car together reducing chassis flex in the vehicle. We have found that the rear strut bar in combination with the front provides superior handling when in hard fast sweeping turns. Both front and rear strut tower bars are aluminum centers with steel ends. Strut bars provided are Whiteline. If out of stock we will supplement with another brand. Package 2 will also include a set of lowering springs from Tein. These are Vivid Racing's spring of choice. We have used these on our show cars, and have tested and sold more of these springs then any other on the market. Tein Springs drop the front about 1.6 inches and the rear .8 inches. The car eliminates the wheel gap and sits perfect on both 17 and 18 inch wheels with no premature wear of tires. These springs will give your car a stiffer feel. Will increase handling in turns, but will not be bouncing and compromise the overall ride. With this package you save $130.

Finally Package 3 is for the weekend racer and someone who wants serious handling and adjustments to dial there car into the correct track or daily driving. All included as the previous packages except instead of springs you get a set of Flex coilovers. Tein coilovers are one of the hottest coilovers on the market. With full adjustable dampening and height adjustments, the Tein coilovers allow you to dial in the perfect ride. They include pillowball mounts for adjustable front camber and a firm rear ride. The Type Flex is a more race oriented coilover. The Flex coilover is what is used on the Vivid WRX. With progressive spring rates, adjustable height and dampening, this is the best coilover for our suspension packages. With this package you save $350.

All of the above packages can be used with both the 2002 and 2003 Subaru WRX. If you are interested in Package 3 for your wagon, the coilovers are a different setup as well as front sway bar. Please contact us about the change.
